Née en 1977, Mélanie Doré habite Rivière-du-Loup, où elle assure la mise en marché d’un organisme qui veille à la conservation et à la mise en valeur des iles du Saint-Laurent. En 2011, elle décide de devenir famille d’hébergement pour l’équipe midget AAA des Albatros du Collège Notre-Dame en accueillant un premier pensionnaire. En tout, une quinzaine de jeunes provenant de la Gaspésie, du Bas-Saint-Laurent et de la région de Québec trouveront refuge chez elle durant le calendrier scolaire. Le plus connu d’entre eux, Pierre-Luc Dubois, évolue actuellement dans la Ligue nationale de hockey depuis 2017. Hockey et toasts au ketchup ! est son premier roman.

 

Born in 1977, Mélanie Doré lives in Rivière-du-Loup, where she markets an organization that oversees the conservation and development of the islands of the St.-Lawrence River. In 2011, she decided to become a host family for the Collège Notre-Dame Albatros midget AAA team and took in her first resident. About fifteen youths from Gaspésie, Bas-Saint-Laurent, and the Québec region stay with her over the course of the school year. The most well-known of these athletes, Pierre-Luc Dubois, has been continually improving in the National Hockey League since 2017. Hockey et toasts au ketchup! (Hockey and Ketchup Toast!) is her first novel.
