Née à Genève (Suisse) d’une mère italienne et d’un père iranien, Cheyda arrive à Montréal à l’âge de quatre ans. Passionnée par toutes les facettes de la communication, elle sera tour à tour réceptionniste, technicienne à Radio-Canada (Montréal et Moncton) et commis de bibliothèque. C’est en Acadie, en 1990, qu’elle se découvre un talent de parolière. Quelques années plus tard, elle s’initie à la littérature jeunesse à l’université, et c’est la révélation… S’ouvre alors un monde extraordinaire : l’écriture de contes pour enfants. Avec ce premier livre, Cheyda réalise un grand rêve, celui d’utiliser sa plume pour nourrir l’imaginaire de ceux et celles qui croiseront sa route. Cheyda Haramein réside maintenant à Gibsons, en Colombie-Britannique. 

Born in Geneva, Switzerland to an Italian mother and an Iranian father, Cheyda arrived in Montréal when she was four years old. Passionate about all facets of communication, she worked as a receptionist, a technician at Radio-Canada (Montréal and Moncton), and a library clerk. She discovered her talent as a songwriter in Acadie in 1990. A few years later, she was introduced to children’s literature at university, and it was a revelation... An extraordinary world then opened to her: writing stories for children. Cheyda realizes a great dream with her first book: that of using her pen to feed the imagination of those who cross her path. Cheyda Haramein now lives in Gibsons, British-Columbia.
